SiriusXM Artist Confidential with David Garrett and Special Guest Itzhak Perlman

Violinist David Garrett performs music from his new Beethoven-Kreisler CD on the next Artist Confidential, where he also welcomes special guest, violin superstar, Itzhak Perlman! The two violinists will remember their early times together when David studied with Mr. Perlman at Juilliard. They’ll also look back on David’s rising career that has brought Classical Music and Rock to the same stage.

David enjoys a thriving career that easily overlaps the Classical Music and Rock n’ Roll boundaries, but he’s the first to say his heart and roots are classical. On the next SiriusXM Artist Confidential, David Garrett performs and previews his new Beethoven and Kreisler CD and gets some on the spot thoughts from his former teacher, Itzhak Perlman.

   Artist Confidential was indeed a happy reunion between two violin greats….David and his teacher Itzhak Perlman! It was a rare and wonderful experience listening to them as they relive their moments together when David was still a student at Juilliard under the tutelage of Itzhak Perlman, and listening to them play the violin together as well. What could be more breathtaking for me than to listen to David play his classical masterpieces? I am lost in awe! However, it is saddening and disheartening for us fans that there is no latest news of you, David. Take care, wherever you are. I’m praying for you! Love and kisses!

   Dear David, I am visiting your page after quite a long time, almost a year, with great emotion and pride. I have come to know Izhak Perlman after getting to know your work and exactly because He had been your teacher. Much more than comparing , i am now delighted to listen to you both performing together in this musical chalange as allies. Exquisite.

   Lieber David!
   Itzhak Perlman dürfte stolz auf seinen Schüler sein. Er hat es geschafft einen Ton zu erfühlen, der in der Lage ist viele Menschen zu berühren ( in meinen Augen das Gößte, was ein Geiger erreichen kann) und der richtige Moment seinem Schüler den ” eigenen Weg ” zuzutrauen!
   Ein Satz vielleicht zur Stärkung ( kommt er Dir bekannt vor?):” Wenn Du das Ziel hast, bist Du in der Lage Dir den
   besseren Ton immer wieder neu zu erarbeiten!!”

   I agree with Carol. Any box set you bring out DVD I would certainly buy and I know your huge fan base would buy it too! Think you are truly amazing and thank you.

   Dear David — Very much enjoyed the program! Again, please play Baltimore (MD) when you come back to the U.S. in Fall, 2013. (Even if you play DC, too.) Would very much like a chance to meet-and-greet. I’m certain I have plenty of company in that department. Meanwhile, may I be so bold as to offer a suggestion (I do have ‘em)? While you are still at the top of your game, would you consider recording (on DVD especially — you are great fun to watch!) your entire repertoire and offering it as a box set? It might take a couple of years, but it would then be preserved for posterity, as it were. And for those of us who are unable to catch you live in your classical concerts. Also, it would be cool to have a CD/DVD with just maybe you and Marcus doing some of the classical pieces — you sound great together! Just something to think about doing. One last suggestion (I’ve made this one before). Would love to hear you play “He Plays the Violin” from the musical 1776. Please check it out if you haven’t already. (If you pursue any of the above, please be sure to market them in the US — it’s no fun to be “chopped liver”, you know!)
